Ruins of a Poignant Mind

Treading down the station platform
With heavy steps to board the train,
A strong breeze brushed against my cheek
And kept me pushing at odds with the trail.
I disobeyed and kept striding
Thinking about those who fought with the disaster
They must have felt rebellious yet hopeless
Simultaneously while fighting.
Fighting for every bit of share
Their lives deserved to be offered with
Or fighting for their lives instead
Luxury must have seemed a myth.
Their entire lives compiled as ruins
Right in front their eyes beheld
The splendor their eyes once spewed
Is now replaced with horror and dread.
How futile life seems to me
You never know what’s going to be
You keep on cribbing about less sugar in your tea
There are people who have nothing even to eat.
We build castles in our head
Buy clothes to look gorgeous drop dead
Spend thousands without hesitating on brands
And bargain with people who have knackered hands
We dream to do charities so grand
That we forget about the value of a pair of pants
That we can bequeath to that hobo
Who lives down the street struck in utter woe.
Let’s bring a change
Extend our mind’s range
Let’s try to help
To anyone uttering a yelp.
Let’s place ourselves there
And think about the grief
Would it then seem fair?
If nobody offered even a bit of relief?
